About 88mates
88mates is the all-in-one app for Working Holiday makers in Australia (subclass 417 and 462 visas). The idea: bring together in one place everything you usually juggle across five apps, notes and screenshots.
What 88mates does
- Track your 88 and 179 days of specified work, and keep your proof for immigration.
- Find jobs and farm work near you.
- Manage your budget while you travel.
- Meet other backpackers on the community map.
- On the website: free guides (insurance, banking, vehicles, delivery work, Work to Stay) and articles based on official data.
Who is behind 88mates
88mates was created by Simon Marion and is run from Malta. All the legal details are in the legal notice.
How 88mates is funded
The app is free and its core features stay free. Some advanced features are optional in-app purchases. The website also contains affiliate links, always disclosed: 88mates may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. These links don't change our advice.
Where our information comes from
88mates is an independent service, not affiliated with the Australian government. Visa figures come from official Department of Home Affairs data, and every page shows when it was last updated. Our content is there to help you find your way: it isn't legal or tax advice.
